A special radio program on Women and Local Governance in Yemen

Coordinated by the journalist Fatima Mutahar, project member in Yemen, the Sanaa Radio station broadcast a special program on CAWTAR's project, “Women and local governance in Yemen, on Saturday June 2. The journalist and broadcaster Aref Assorme invited political and media personalities to speak on his program, "issue in a dialogue" , and discuss the results of the national study on women and local governance in Yemen. This study was prepared jointly by CAWTAR and the Inter-Arab Forum for Human Rights. The four other national studies were conducted in Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Lebanon.

The broadcaster Aref Assorme confirmed in his letter addressed to CAWTAR that the program illicited many positive reactions following this broadcast. It should be noted that CAWTAR also coordinated with journalist members in the other four countries involved in the study for special broadcasts on the project "Arab Women and Local Governance".
